Nicole Jackson RN, BSN, MSc Health and Social Care. Nicole has been a nurse for over 23 years.

Nicole earned her Registered Nursing certification from Excelsior Community College (Jamaica W.I) A Bachelor’s degree in Nursing from University of New Brunswick (Canada), A Certificate in Infusion Therapy (Canada), A Certificate in Child and Adolescence Nursing (UK); A Masters in Health and Social Care from University of Cumbria (UK). 

Nicole is currently the Intravenous Therapy Clinical Supervisor, at the King Edward Memorial V11 Hospital KEMH).  Nicole has experience practicing in medical and surgical nursing.

Professional memberships include Bermuda Nurses Association; Canadian Vascular Access Association; American Vascular Association. Nicole previously served as a member of the Practice Regulation and Education (PRE) Committee of the Bermuda Nursing Council and the Bermuda Nurses Association. She was elected to council 2018.

Nicole believes that Nursing is a noble, honest and ethical profession. She is a strong advocate for the highest level of care for all patients while promoting optimal health outcomes. She also advocates and shows support for colleagues and Nursing as a profession. Her personal mantra is to serve, to be successful while identifying, and fulfilling her created purposes.

Lunette has been in nursing for over15 years. In 2007 she obtained a Bachelor’s degree from Chicago State University, and worked in the ICU at Christ Medical Centre Chicago.

IN 2012 she graduated from Loyola University Chicago with a Master’s degree in nursing with a concentration as a Family Nurse Practitioner and became prepared to fulfill her passion of preventing chronic disease and closing health disparity gaps.

 Since graduating and passing her national nurse practitioner board exam, she has worked primarily with vulnerable communities and has been diagnosing and treating common conditions for over 10 years.  Some of Lunette’s proud accomplishments as a nurse practitioner include: creating the hypertension urgency protocol for her health care system, revising RN protocol for post-operative open heart patients, creating post-operative anesthesia protocol, putting together an education program to teach RNs swan-Ganz catheters, helping to revise medication protocol for deployed members in the United Stated Airforce Flight Medicine Department, helping to create an obesity medicine clinic in a primary care health system, creating a diabetes management program, publishing international research on diabetes management in primary care, keeping care homes compliance with government regulations, and helping to implement HEARTS initiative in Bermuda.

In 2020 Mrs. Castillo graduated from Rush University in Chicago and has a doctorate degree in Advanced Public Health; Leadership to enhance population health outcomes. She is currently the Executive Director at Westmeath Residential & Nursing Home and has been focused on increasing revenue, increasing staff productivity, decreasing receivables, supervising over 80 staff members, and creating best practices. Mrs. Castillo is passionate about utilizing her leadership skills and expert knowledge to help bridge gaps in the Bermuda healthcare sector.

Renee Y. Faulcon MSN, RN

Renee Faulcon is a Registered Nurse and a Nurse Educator who currently works at Bermuda College as a lecturer in the Division of Nursing and Allied Health. Renee’s nursing career spans 30 years in the healthcare industry with the last 13 years as a nurse educator.

In 1990 Renee began her career as a Registered Nurse on Harbour Ward at King Edward Memorial Hospital.  1992-2013, Renee lived in Baltimore Maryland and Charlotte, North Carolina working as a Registered Nurse in Medical Surgical nursing, Home Health Care, and IV therapy. In 2007 Renee worked as a part-time clinical instructor at Central Piedmont Community College in North Carolina. This is where she realized teaching in academia was her passion and decided to pursue a master’s degree in nursing education from Queens University in Charlotte NC. Renee developed her skills and increasing knowledge of pedagogy of Nursing, especially working in the simulation lab while working at South Piedmont Community College, Monroe North Carolina.

In 2013, Renee received a call to work in a newly developed nursing programme at Bermuda College. Within the last seven years Renee has taught several nursing courses and managed the nursing simulation lab.  One of her greatest accomplishments was to write an article that was published in the Bermuda College journal, Voices in Education.

Renee’s greatest achievement in life is raising three beautiful children with her husband James Faulcon, one son and two daughters. None of this would be possible without faith and believing all things are possible.

 Renee is the current President of Bermuda Nurses Association (elected 2020 by her peers).

Shawnette Easton has been a Nursing Associate for 9 years and is currently coordinator at Summer Haven, Residential Care Home. She is also a Preceptor for Nursing Associates.

She is a graduate of Bermuda College Nursing Assistant program  

Shawnette’s experience is varied: She has worked in acute care at King Edward V11Memorial Hospital; residential care; long term-care; rehabilitation; home healthcare and in nursing-home settings. Activity Coordinator for seniors in a Residential Care facility. She is committed to providing high-quality nursing care within the scope of Practice for Nursing Associates

Shawnette was elected to council 2018.

Memberships include active Volunteer and Member Bermuda Physical Handicap association. Member of St. Johns Ambulance (FA); Active Citizen: Devonshire Parish (Loyal Hill) Community.

Shawnette strives to preserve resident’s dignity and minimize discomfort while carrying out activities of daily living. She has been commended for effective team collaboration, resident relations and consistent delivery of empathetic care by her employer.

Areas of Practice
Jordan is an associate in the Dispute Resolution department in Appleby’s Bermuda office.

Prior to joining Appleby, Jordan practiced as a Litigation Associate with another Bermuda firm. Jordan has represented clients in Supreme Court on a wide range of matters including commercial contract disputes, mortgage enforcement, probate and estate disputes, and property disputes. He has experience working with local and international clients on cross-border trust and insolvency matters, and public law matters. He has extensive experience in employment matters. He has advised primarily employers but also individuals on matters including employment rights (generally), labour relations and union negotiations, post termination obligations and rights, and employer obligations under human rights legislation. Jordan also has extensive experience in Magistrates’ and Family Court.

Affiliations: Jordan is an associate member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, a member of the Bermuda Medical Practitioners Conduct Committee (Alternate Chairperson), and a member of the Bermuda Nursing Council.

Jordan was highlighted in 2017 by both the Bermuda: RE+ILS magazine and the Bermudian magazine as a Rising Star.

Heloisa has been a registered nurse for fourteen years, and is currently the Clinical Education Manager of Nursing Staff Development Department (NSDD) at the Bermuda Hospitals Board (BHB).

Heloisa earned her Registered Nurse certificate and Bachelors of Science Nursing from Dalhousie University, Halifax, Nova Scotia.; A Masters in Nursing degree with emphasis in Nursing Education from Walden University.  She also completed her Geriatric Resource Nurse (GRN) certification in 2013. 

Heloisa has experience in general medical/surgical nursing and nursing education.  She has been a clinical instructor at the Bermuda College for the nursing assistant students for over nine years.

Professional Memberships include Bermuda Nurses Association (BNA) where she previously served on the executive of the BNA as both recording secretary and a member at large (nurse resident representative). 

Heloisa strives to promote professional excellence and encourage lifelong learning.

Cil-maria Outerbridge has been a registered nurse for over 20 years.  She received her BSN from Towson University in 1999 and MPH (honors) from George Washington University in 2004.

Cil-maria is currently employed by Bermuda Hospitals Board at KEMH and works as a Clinical Manager in Perioperative Services. During her time at BHB, she has worked in several capacities including staff nurse in the Operating Room and Clinical Educator for Perioperative Services.

Cil-maria is passionate about advocating for the delivery of safe, competency-based education while engaging nurses in the advancement of the nursing profession.  She aims to be a catalyst for the delivery of innovation in nursing practice.

Vairi is a Registered Nurse-Midwife. She obtained her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from York University, Toronto, Canada in 2011 and Master of Science in Midwifery in 2021 from the University of Southampton, United Kingdom. She has also been an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) since 2016.

Vairi started her nursing career at KEMH in 2011 before moving to the UK in 2013. While in the UK she practiced within the maternity unit at Kingston Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, private nursing homes, hospices and ran her own Lactation Consultant practice. During her time in the nursing homes she found a particular interest in Palliative and End of Life Care and was the lead nurse in this area. While working as an RN she completed her Midwifery degree before moving back to Bermuda.

Vairi is registered as an RN in Bermuda, Canada and the UK and as a RMW in Bermuda and Canada.

Vairi’s greatest accomplishment in her career was having her original qualitative research published in the British Journal of Midwifery in 2021. Her work is titled Changing the tide: Influencing factors for midwives on vaginal breech birth skill acquisition.

Vairi feels strongly about providing her clients with the information they need to make informed choices about their health and equipping society with a stronger knowledge of lactation and perinatal support.

Vairi has incredible support from her husband and family. She is a mother to two daughters, her most recent was a planned homebirth here in Bermuda.

Lynn has been a nurse for 35 years and is currently the Chief Nursing Officer, Bermuda.

Lynn earned her Registered Nurse and Midwifery Certificates from the Royal London Hospital in England, a Diploma in Public Health Nursing from the West Indies School of Public Health in Kingston Jamaica; a Bachelors of Arts in Leadership Practitioner from Manchester Metropolitan University, England and a Master of Science in Public Health from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine.  

Lynn has a wealth of experience in public health as a community health nurse, health visitor, Coordinator Child Health/Expanded Programme on Immunization Manager and was a Temporary Advisor with PAHO for country immunization evaluations.  She was co-author of a published article: “The Expanded program on Immunization in the English and Dutch speaking Caribbean (1977-2016): reasons for its success”.  

Professional Memberships includes the Bermuda Nurses Association and previously served as President, Vice President and member-at-large and was awarded Nurse of the Year in 2010. Lynn was appointed to serve on the BNMC in her capacity Chief Nursing Officer in 2021.  

Important values for Lynn include life-long and shared learning to improve population health for all. Her satisfaction is greatest when supporting the growth and development of other nurses.  Achieving work life balance includes walking, swimming, dancing and Transcendental Meditation.  

Graduated from the Mountainside Hospital School of Nursing, and Boston University has a strong background in medical surgical nursing. She worked on the Thoracic Surgery Step-down unit at New England Deaconess Hospital, a Harvard Teaching Hospital, for several years. Mary Jo also worked as a team leader at Peer Review Analysis/CORE, a consulting company for insurance claims. In 1996 Mary Jo moved from Boston and worked in the community as a district nurse, school nurse and private duty nurse.

In September 2008, Mary Jo opened LTC Solutions Ltd. Rebranded in 2017 as TLC Homecare Ltd. On April 1, 2019, TLC Homecare Ltd. became an Approved Health Service Provider, and in July 2020, the Bermuda Health Council, recognised TLC as registered Premier Level Healthcare provider.

Mary Jo gained much insight into the needs of the community especially those who choose to stay at home to receive health care. She believes the standard of care is essential especially in the home care setting. Her experience coupled with her values, has driven her to create and provide compassion and to a more significant degree, love for those who need care.

Kirsten has been a nurse for 9 years. She earned her Bachelors of Science degree in Nursing from Old Dominion University in Virginia and her Masters in Nursing Leadership from Walden University (USA). She is currently completing a certificate in Healthcare Quality Improvement also from Walden University. 

Kirsten is currently working as a Quality Manager at BHB. In this role she works with teams across BHB from acute medical/surgical, critical care and mental health services to find ways to continuously improve on quality and safety. 

She is also one of the co-leads for the Hospital’s 2023 Accreditation Canada Survey preparation. Her experience in nursing includes general medical /surgical as well as operating room nursing, having worked as an anaesthetic, scrub and circulating nurse.
