Kirsten is a Quality Manager with the Quality and Risk department at BHB. In this role she works with teams across BHB from acute medical, surgical and mental health services to find ways to continuously improve quality and safety. 

Prior to this, Kirsten was the Clinical Resource Nurse for Catlin Lindo unit in the Acute Care Wing during the height of Covid-19. This role taught her how to lead a team through extreme uncertainty as well as how to be a pillar of support, which is vital when in a position to lead others.

 From 2015-2019, she was an operating room RN working as an anaesthetic, scrub and circulating nurse throughout every specialty from endoscopies to orthopedics.

Kirsten has over 10 years of experience as a frontline nurse, a quality and safety champion, leader and now nursing regulation. She utilizes her connections and personable character to ensure she is always working for the greater good of the profession and healthcare in general. In her free time, she is involved with her local church (Peace Lutheran), enjoys gardening and taking care of her fur baby Butters. 

Kirsten was  elected to the BNMC in 2023 and was re-elected in 2025. Her first term on the BNMC expanded her knowledge and understanding for the regulation of nurses in Bermuda and how we can continue to grow the profession. There is still much work to do and gaps to close to ensure we are always protecting the health, interests, welfare and safety of the public as well as maintaining high standards of nursing and midwifery practice. She hopes to encourage other young nurses to join the council in the future.

Janice is Highly experienced Registered Nurse with nearly 40 years of clinical expertise spanning acute care, dialysis, substance abuse treatment, employee health, and public health. 

BSN-prepared nurse with extensive experience in both the United States and Bermuda, including long-term service at King Edward VII Memorial Hospital, the Mid-Atlantic Wellness Institute, and the Bermuda Department of Health. 

Proven ability to deliver compassionate, patient-centred care, promote staff and community wellness, and support public health initiatives including sexual and reproductive health, STI/HIV services, vaccinations, and tuberculosis prevention and care.

I have served as a Nurse Practitioner (NP) for over 13 years, with the past seven years dedicated to my current role at the Patient-Centred Medical Home clinic at King Edward VII Memorial Hospital. In this capacity, I have had the privilege of caring for a marginalized population within our community—individuals who are underinsured or uninsured and often face complex medical conditions compounded by challenging social circumstances.

Through this experience, I have gained a deep appreciation for the critical role nurses play in promoting patient health, empowerment, and improved outcomes.

I am a graduate of the University of Toronto, where I earned a Post-Master’s NP Diploma in 2012, following a Master of Nursing degree in 2002 with a focus on program planning and evaluation.

My professional contributions include previous service on the Bermuda Nursing and Midwifery Council (BNMC), where I assisted in drafting documentation related to prescriptive authority for Advanced Practice Nurses. Most recently, I contributed to draft legislation expanding APN scope of practice to include open prescriptions.

Deborah is a highly accomplished Registered General Nurse, brings extensive experience in mental health nursing across diverse and challenging environments, including Barbados, the British Virgin Islands, and in the United Kingdom, before relocating to Bermuda.  Deborah holds a General Nursing Qualification from Barbados Community College, a Postgraduate Diploma in Mental Health from Oxford Brookes University, and a Postgraduate Qualification in Independent Nurse Prescribing from Middlesex University, Deborah combines advanced clinical expertise with specialized knowledge in mental health and pharmacology.

With a robust background in Forensics, Acute Mental Health Care, Crisis intervention, Child and Adolescent Mental Health, Police Street triage, and Prison settings, Deborah has delivered compassionate, evidence-based care to individuals with complex mental health needs in high-pressure environments. 

Prior to moving to Bermuda, Deborah served in a dual role as an Advanced Mental Health Practitioner in Police Street Triage and Physical Health Lead for Patients with Mental Illness in East Berkshire demonstrating exceptional skill in integrating mental and physical health care. 

Deborah’s experience in prison settings further showcases her ability to provide specialized care to vulnerable populations in secure environments. Deborah is committed to advancing mental health care and working collaboratively to reduce stigma in Mental Health. 

Christine Bogle-Mienzer is a registered nurse, leader, and educator with extensive experience in long-term and complex care in Bermuda’s health system. She is the Clinical Nurse Manager at King Edward VII Memorial Hospital, providing operational and clinical leadership for long-term care services with a focus on patient safety, quality improvement, and professional accountability.

Christine is dedicated to evidence-based practice, clinical governance, and developing safe care systems for older adults and vulnerable populations. Her leadership emphasizes ethical decision-making, staff development, and continuous improvement in line with professional standards.

She is an Adjunct Faculty member in the Bermuda College Nursing Program, contributing to undergraduate nursing education through teaching, clinical supervision, and mentorship. Christine is also active in professional and labour advocacy, serving as Assistant Recording Secretary of the Bermuda Public Services Union and Chair of the BPSU Women’s Committee, where she supports workforce equity and safe practice environments.

I am currently employed with the BHB/ KEMH on the Acue medical surgical unit. I have over 20 years of experience in working in this field.

Vairi is registered as an RN in Bermuda, Canada and the UK and as a RM in Bermuda and the UK.

Vairi is a Registered Nurse-Midwife. She obtained her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from York University. Toronto, Canada in 2011. Master of Science in Midwifery in 2021 from the University of Southampton,United Kingdom.

She has also been an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) since 2016.

Vairi started her nursing career at KEMH in 2011 before moving to the UK in 2013. While in the UK she practiced within the maternity unit at Kingston Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, private nursing homes, hospices and ran her own Lactation Consultant practice. During her time in the nursing homes she found a particular interest in Palliative and End of Life Care and was the lead nurse in this area. While working as an RN she completed her Midwifery degree before moving back to Bermuda.

Vairi is registered as an RN in Bermuda, Canada and the UK and as a RMW in Bermuda and Canada. 

Vairi’s greatest accomplishment in her career was having her original qualitative research published in the British Journal of Midwifery in 2021. Her work is titled Changing the tide: Influencing factors for midwives on vaginal breech birth skill acquisition.

Vairi feels strongly about providing her clients with the information they need to make informed choices about their health and equipping society with a stronger knowledge of lactation and perinatal support.

Vairi has incredible support from her husband and family. She is a mother to two daughters, her most recent was a planned homebirth here in Bermuda.

Lynn has been a nurse for 35 years and is currently the Chief Nursing Officer, Bermuda.

Lynn earned her Registered Nurse and Midwifery Certificates from the Royal London Hospital in England, a Diploma in Public Health Nursing from the West Indies School of Public Health in Kingston Jamaica; a Bachelors of Arts in Leadership Practitioner from Manchester Metropolitan University, England and a Master of Science in Public Health from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine.  

Lynn has a wealth of experience in public health as a community health nurse, health visitor, Coordinator Child Health/Expanded Programme on Immunization Manager and was a Temporary Advisor with PAHO for country immunization evaluations.  She was co-author of a published article: “The Expanded program on Immunization in the English and Dutch speaking Caribbean (1977-2016): reasons for its success”.  

Professional Memberships includes the Bermuda Nurses Association and previously served as President, Vice President and member-at-large and was awarded Nurse of the Year in 2010. Lynn was appointed to serve on the BNMC in her capacity Chief Nursing Officer in 2021.

Graduated from the Mountainside Hospital School of Nursing, and Boston University has a strong background in medical surgical nursing. She worked on the Thoracic Surgery Step-down unit at New England Deaconess Hospital, a Harvard Teaching Hospital, for several years. Mary Jo also worked as a team leader at Peer Review Analysis/CORE, a consulting company for insurance claims. In 1996 Mary Jo moved from Boston and worked in the community as a district nurse, school nurse and private duty nurse.

In September 2008, Mary Jo opened LTC Solutions Ltd. Rebranded in 2017 as TLC Homecare Ltd. On April 1, 2019, TLC Homecare Ltd. became an Approved Health Service Provider, and in July 2020, the Bermuda Health Council, recognised TLC as registered Premier Level Healthcare provider.

Mary Jo gained much insight into the needs of the community especially those who choose to stay at home to receive health care. She believes the standard of care is essential especially in the home care setting. Her experience coupled with her values, has driven her to create and provide compassion and to a more significant degree, love for those who need care.

Kiara Wilkinson is an Associate in the Insolvency and Dispute Resolution Department of Walkers' Bermuda office.

Prior to joining Walkers, Kiara trained and practiced at Appleby (Bermuda) Limited, where she began as a trainee in the Corporate department in October 2021 - having gained experience with the banking and finance team. She was called to the Bermuda Bar in October 2022. Kiara qualified in Dispute Resolution. Before undertaking her pupillage, Kiara was a specialist litigation paralegal at another local offshore law firm.

Kiara has a broad practice within the Dispute Resolution department, advising and representing clients in a full range of civil and commercial complex litigation. Kiara assists with, among other things:

• General civil and commercial disputes (inclusive of high value landlord/tenant claims, trust disputes, contract disputes and enforcement actions);
• Asset and debt recovery;
• Shareholder fair value appraisal actions;
• Regulatory matters;
• Employment matters; and,
• Human rights issues 

In July 2021, Kiara was admitted to the Bar of England and Wales by the Honourable Society of Middle Temple.
