The Bermuda Nursing and Midwifery Council (BNMC) awards was initiated in 1990 and serves to promote our core values of ensuring advancement and promotion through quality education. Lifelong learning is fundamental to ensuring the safe delivery of quality nursing and midwifery cate for the Public.
The BNMCC awards scholarships to graduate and non-graduate nursing and or midwifery students (including nurses and or midwives who are pursuing further nursing and or midwifery education). School/Institution must be accredited, or is recognized by BNMC. Students must be accepted into a nursing and or midwifery program. Scholarships are funded from monies allocated to the BNMC by way of Bermuda Government grant and are granted based upon interview and availability of funds.
A completed application form must be forwarded to the Bermuda

The BNMC Practice Regulation Committee (PRE) interviews
applicant/s and recommends successful applicant/s to Nursing Council.
Successful and unsuccessful applicants are notified.
Funds will be forwarded in two installments (Fall
&Winter term) to student’s bank account or to the student’s school
account. (Bermuda College (BC) student,
funds are deposited in student’s BC account).
Continuation of awards for continuing years of study depends on
providing the BNMC with College/University term transcripts at the end of the
academic year. Student must maintain a
GP above 2.6 for the academic year.
Please Note: Recipients of the award who do not complete the course of study without a valid reason (accepted by the BNMC) or who do not return to work in Bermuda after 5 years of completion will be liable to repay the sums of monies received.
